Termites are social creatures that live in colonies and can literally eat you out of house and home! These pesky insects cause over five billion dollars in property damage each year; are not covered by homeowners insurance; and often times leave signs that the average person doesn't recognize until it is too late. If you are concerned about termites, let our experts conduct a thorough termite inspection of the exterior perimeter and interior of your property.

Did You Know?
  • Termites rarely swarm in view and are attracted to warm, moist places where there is plenty of food.
  • Termites have soft, flexible bodies that allow them to penetrate even concrete through tiny cracks.
  • Sub-surface wood or stucco extensions, patios, decks, porches and room extensions are prime areas for termite colonies to settle.
  • Rigid foam insulation is a way for termites to bore into a home.
  • Garden mulch and drainage provide ideal habitats for termites.
If a problem is found, the professionals at Griggs & Browne will select the right solution from a wealth of termite control products and services. We are committed to safety and the environment and for that reason, Griggs & Browne was one of the first pest control companies to become licensed and authorized to offer our customers the Sentricon® Colony Elimination System.

Griggs & Browne Follows These Steps To Protect Your Home:
  1. A free inspection is conducted to determine if a termite problem exists.
  2. It termites are discovered, the Sentricon termite system is installed in the soil around the perimeter of the structure. At this time, the "hot areas" (termite activity) are baited.
  3. Griggs & Browne's trained professionals will conduct bimonthly inspections to monitor the system.
  4. When termites are found, they are removed from the monitor and transferred to a bait tube which is placed back in the station.
  5. The termites feed on the bait (Recruit IV) which contains an insect growth regulator. This prevents the termites from molting. If the termites cannot go through the molting process they die. However, the growth regulator does not kill the insect immediately. The termites bring the bait to the rest of the colony, which will also feed on it, eventually killing the whole colony. The Sentricon System requires no drilling in floors or foundations, no digging or trenching and no gallons of chemical solution.
Sentricon is a green and safe solution to termite problems and the only termite product to ever win the Presidential Green Chemistry Challenge Award.

'Green' Is In
The ever-expanding "green" movement made headlines with the recent release of "An Inconvenient Truth," former Vice President Al Gore's award-winning documentary on global warming.

Scores of environmentally responsible products are now being offered - hybrid vehicles, energy-efficient light bulbs, termite control ... termite control? That's right, now even termite control can leave a smaller footprint on the environment.
